GRAFFITI PHILOSOPHY
This is a video illustrating the political/social commentary of public graffiti.
It starts out juxtaposing Bush with Obama — essentially one just took the kleptocratic baton from the other without missing a beat. Then it touches on the downtrodden and disenfranchised. It then moves into the mass media propaganda machine, then mindless consumerism, our oil addiction, empire’s oil-centric/exploitive foreign policy, the corporate driven military industrial complex, the environmental consequences of fossil fuels, and then the evolution (fate) of man.
The soundtrack that accompanies the video is claimed to be an unreleased song by NIN entitled “It All Fades”.
Thanks to Abby Martin for posting my video at her important website:

During the regime of Hosni Mubarak, Egypt had almost no graffiti on the walls of its cities. But when the uprising against Mubarak’s rule erupted a year ago, there was an explosion of the art.

@m4yH3mKITTEH Remind ‘yourselves’ that some kid named #Manning survived 11 months of #torture (innocent till proven guilty, not b/c President #OBAMA declared he was) & that @anonymouSabu #snitched almost instantly!

BRADLEY MANNING CHARGED WITH ‘AIDING THE ENEMY’…
THE COMMON CITIZEN IS THE ENEMY?!
In matters of truth and justice, there is no difference between large and small problems, for issues concerning the treatment of people are all the same.
-Albert Einstein

“First they came for the communists and I did not speak out - because I was not a communist.
Then they came for the Jews and I did not speak out - because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out - because I was not a trade unionist.
Next they came for the Catholics and I did not speak out - because I was not a Catholic.
Then they came for me. And there was no one left to speak out for me.”

BRADLEY MANNING’S NEW MAILING ADDRESS
Bradley has a new mailing address. With more frequent courtroom appearances at Fort Meade, MD, Bradley has been moved for the time being to a new address in Virginia. Manning’s lawyer, David Coombs, posted the new address on his blog:
Commander, HHC USAG
Attn: PFC Manning
239 Sheridan Ave, Bldg 417
JBM-HH, VA 22211
Coombs also described the specific requirements for sending mail to Bradley:
As previously noted, PFC Manning is eligible to receive mail from anyone who wishes to write to him. However, the confinement facility does place certain restrictions on what can be sent to PFC Manning. The facility will reject any mail that violates postal regulations or contains obscenity, blackmail, contraband or threats. In addition, the facility has the following restrictions:
a) PFC Bradley Manning cannot receive any cash, checks, or money orders. Due to this additional restriction, our office will ensure that PFC Manning has sufficient funds in his detainee account to purchase items.
b) Photographs are only accepted if printed on copy paper. A maximum of six (6) pages are allowed. Pictures on photograph weight paper are not allowed.
c) Incoming mail will be returned to the sender if, in the opinion of the facility, such mail falls into any of the following categories: 1) Contains inflammatory material or advocates escape, violence, disorder or assault; 2) Directly or indirectly threatens the security, safety or order of the facility; 3) Contains coded or otherwise undecipherable language that prevents adequate review of the material; 4) Is received with “Postage Due”; or 5) Contains items of contraband.

I could attempt to sit here and summarize Bradley Manning’s recent arraignment, but why do that when you can read this great article?

Bradley Manning is nearing 650 days in solitary confinement. It’s extremely rare for something like this to happen, but it has. It’s actually a very strange story:

You know what these guys have in common? They were both held for unreasonable periods of time in pretrial confinement and neither one of them killed a single person. So that must mean that if you join the army you give away your right to a speedy trial? That doesn’t seem morally justifiable and it’s not a good selling point for the guys who have to try to convince people to sign up. Maybe we should just start telling everyone you get treated horribly when you joined the armed forces then?
I only wish I could tell the government to think before they do. They’ve done this and other things that are deeply regrettable. The Stratfor hack served as a wonderful reminder that transparency in government and in big business can never be a bad thing. Seeing how some of these companies operate makes my stomach turn. It’s like this company is just a conglomeration of dicks and assholes all patting each other on the back for a job well done. To quote: “Some of the emails may be forged or altered to include inaccuracies; some may be authentic. We will not validate either. Nor will we explain the thinking that went into them.” I lol’d! Did you? I wouldn’t know how to explain that morally depraved behavior either.
All this fits together for me. Bradley Manning, Collateral Murder, Wikileaks, Occupy, and Stratfor are all this continuation of a process. This is what revolution is, but then comes the decision of what kind of revolution it could or should be. 1) Political revolution 2) sudden and violent revolutions that seeks not only to establish a new political system but to transform an entire society and 3) slow but sweeping transformations of the entire society that take several generations to bring about; of all these what would you pick? How patient or impatient are we? Have we waited long enough?
